Brass dial bracket clock, ca. 1791-1796.

Bracket clock with cove and ovolo molded top, five cast brass urn-and-flame finials, cast brass ornament at front, cast brass handles at the sides, sidelights with cast brass ornament, cast brass ornament at front corners, cast brass ornament in the tympanum, and a glazed door with an astragal top. Molding at the base, case brass ornament, and supported on gilt bracket feet. Engraved dial with roman hour numerals and arabic minute numerals, engraved vines and leaves in the spandrels and lunette, and a silent/strike selector in the lunette. Inside the chapter ring there is a calendar aperture and engraved vines and leaves. The dial is signed "Effingham Embree New York." Eight day movement.
